OU Softball Takes Bedlam Finale 8-2 On Senior Day

A brilliant start from graduate right-hander Karlie Keeney and a six-run sixth inning powered the No. 2-ranked Oklahoma softball team to an 8-2 win over No. 4/4 Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at Love's Field, closing the final Big 12 Bedlam Presented by Phillips 66 series.

The Sooners (46-6, 22-5 Big 12) punctuated senior day by out-hitting Oklahoma State (44-9, 21-6 Big 12) 13-7 on the day. OU now owns a 103-74 advantage in Bedlam including a 45-23 mark in Norman.

Keeney provided Oklahoma with a gem in her final regular-season start, tossing 6.2 shutout innings while scattering four hits and striking out three. The right-hander improved to 5-1 on the season and needed just 81 pitches to record 20 outs.

OU jumped on the board in the fourth courtesy of a two-run opposite-field home run off the bat of freshman Kasidi Pickering (1-for-3, R, HR, 2 RBI), providing Keeney with a 2-0 lead. Oklahoma's starter posted another zero in the fifth before being relieved in the sixth. OSU plated two runs off the Sooner bullpen, knotting the game at 2-2, before Keeney could end the threat after re-entering.

The Sooners responded with a bang, plating six runs in the home half of the sixth highlighted by back-to-back blasts by Ella Parker and Tiare Jennings (1-for-4, R, HR, RBI). Following a go-ahead RBI single from Jayda Coleman (1-for-4, R, RBI), Parker launched a monster three-run home run to dead center to cap off a terrific 3-for-4 day at the plate. Jennings smashed a solo shot out to left-center, then Hannah Coor added an RBI single a few batters later to close out the scoring.

Keeney finished off OSU with a scoreless seventh, securing the senior day win and locking Oklahoma into the No. 2 seed at the 2024 Big 12 Softball Championship.

Senior left fielder Rylie Boone recorded a 3-for-3 day at the plate to join Parker as Sooners with three-hit games.
